The 10 best soups in Dharamsala (2024)

Tibet Kitchen is not only a restaurant but it's popular for its variety of eateries including kewa datse, a spicy Bhutanese dish, and shapta, the local dish featuring roasted lamb slices, capsicum, and onion. The restaurant is located at Jogiwara Road in McLeodganj and serves huge portions of authentic Tibetan food. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere inviting.

Absolutely in love with every aspect of the restaurant. The portion, the taste, the service and the price everything on point. We ordered fry thenthuk and thukpa. Taste wise very good. Cannot comment on the authenticity of Tibet food but it was tasty and something different from our daily orders. And when we received the bill we were shocked to see such less price. Highly recommend place.

We enjoyed the food to a mild extent, not more. The shabaleb (large fried momos) were good, the pork chilly was mostly composed of pig fat slices and didn’t taste any different than chicken. Tigmo bread was a little dry. And the peach beer tasted like medicine. The cheesecake was good and at a budget price. The restaurant is right on the main town square, and experiences enough footfall.

Visit to Mcleodganj is incomplete with visiting this gem. Fresh preparations with aromatic food. Momos & Thupka are all-time favourites. Tried Mutton Thali for the first time on recommendation, mutton prepared in cheeze and Mutton Momos were great. Fruit beers are evergreen. Courteous & happy staff makes the experience memorable.

Known as one of the best restaurant for Tibetan food, the restaurant boast of some authentic Tibetan cuisine apart from other cuisines. Tried the Tibetan thali, it was good. The food quality is fine and taste good. Price is a bit on the higher side. Overall a nice experience.

Food is absolutely delicious, atmosphere is cozy, the only thing that let's down this restaurant is that it has the worst service I've ever experienced in my life. I am not kidding. The wait staff are TERRIBLE. Not only do they not smile, they're not even remotely friendly either. And when they're busy looking like they'd rather be ANYWHERE else they'll ignore you every time you try to get their attention. Like actually look you in the eye and just keep walking. My friend actually joked while we were there "don't piss them off or they'll spit in your food". Which almost seemed likely. Are the managers beating them in the kitchen??? Why do they seem so miserable???Where I come from you're greeted with a smile and wait staff are joyful and friendly. It's customer service, so it's part of the job to make people feel WELCOME. Sadly this just seems to be a theme in McLeod Ganj. No one looks happy to be working in hospo.

One of the iconic restaurant in MacLeod Ganj. Basically Tibetan food specialist. Food quality is no doubt very good. Staff is very warm and prompt. Service was also very quick. The washroom was clean. They have 3 floors of seating. You can seat anywhere to order and enjoy your dilicious food.

Nestled in the heart of McLeodganj market, this place gives you an authentic experience of Tibetan and Bhutanese cuisine alongwith mainstream Indian and Continental choices. The quantity is enough for one and the prices are pocket-friendly. Also, has a great view of the market.

One of the best in Maclodganj, try Momos, Thupka and other Tibetan cuisine here. Ambience is very traditional and service is also very good, they have both indoor and outdoor sitting available. The price is quite on the upper side but the quantity and taste justifies it.The place is usually crowded.

I had really high hopes from this place, I've been hearing some really great reviews about the vibe, feel and the food of this place. I had to order their highly rated thukpa along with some really great steamed momos. The thukpa was really very good it was really filling and some nice chunks of chicken with bloody good hand made noodles. However, the steamed momos were a bit above average. A place like Tibet kichen situated in mcleodganj where tibetians live should serve momos which are world class, soft and juicy. In this case they were a bit less on the filling and they were a bit doughy. Will recommend this place for some really good authentic tibetian food but won't recommend you to try out their momos.

We had the vegetarian Tibetan thali. It had momos, chowmein, Manchurian, ema datsi. All of it was super super tasty. Staff is very warm and prompt. Service was also very quick. The washroom was clean. They have 3 floors of seating.

One of the best restaurant in McLeod GanjFOOD - Me and my friends had Tibetan Thali, mutton, momos, chicken Thukpa, and few more dishes, and needless to say all the dishes were delicious and flavourful.AMBIENCE- the place has the vibe to drive your cravings unless your food arrives. It has two floors and the upper floor has an outdoor seating.SERVICE AND STAFF -Apart from food and ambience, service and the staff is also prompt and proactive respectively.** if you are travelling to Mcleodganj , then make sure this restaurant is on your food list.

The food was average in taste which was disappointing as tibetian dishes are very flavourful. The tingmo was decent, fried momos were bland and the noodles were extremely salty that it couldn't be eaten. The service was horrible, you gotta call for the server repeatedly just to take an order or get your billing done. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

We happened to choose this place for our dinner based on the ratings. Unfortunately vegetarian dishes were not so great. We had flat noodle thukpa (thenthuk) , petse fry which were ok. Ginger lemon honey drink was good. The place is also a bit dark ambience.

The taste and portions of food is good. Ask about the dish before ordering, otherwise you may get very bland dish. The hygiene and cleanliness is not well maintained. The seating for dinner is upto 3 floors.

We had a late lunch, I must say, the ambience is lovely and the food is very, very good. If you are here, you must try the tandoori chicken momos, the thukpa (veg/chicken). Do not miss the Tibetan thali, we had the chicken thali, chili chicken in the thali was to die for, so was everything else! So good! Also, do not miss the Boba tea. We had the matcha boba tea and it was awesome. Do visit! The service is quick and the staff is polite. Thank you for having us, Tibet kitchen. Will definitely visit again.

This was our first time trying Tibet food. The food was delicious and great taste. Their ambience is one more highlight. Liked their authentic floor seats set up.I felt price is a bit high, but good for one time try.

Hands down the best meal we have had in McLeod Ganj/Dharamshala. We ordered a bunch of Tibetan dishes to share for the table - Fry Thentuk (sort of like the Thai Pad Kemau), Mokthuk (dumpling soup), Shapta (Lamb stir fry) and the cloud-like, fluffy Tingmo bread. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the portions were huge! Definitely coming back here again!!

We ordered Tibet thali which was nice, crispy mushrooms were also tasty and Crispy, thenthuk was decent, but the honey chilli potatoes were very soggy as well as tasted more like a sweet dish. They were very sweet.

Shagun Bhardwaj — Google review

Had the vegetarian tibetian thali here. Every single thing was amazing. We also ordered the Crispy Chilli Honey Potatoes, Veg Chinese Chopsuey and Fries Lady Finger (forgot the actual name).Everything tasted amazing. The top floor had a bustling atmosphere. Right in the center (naka for all marathi pora, pori).Don’t miss this place if you end up in McLoed Ganj.
